Rubber hoses are available in UHMWPE, XLPE, Hypalon, Buna-N/Nitrile, EPDM, Chlorobutyl, Neoprene, SBR, and Natural compounds for the various product applications. Most rubber hoses are comprised of three layers, the first, and innermost is the tube, which is formed when rubber is forced through a profile to render a particular inner diameter (ID) size to contain the fluid being conveyed and resist being broken down by the products being conveyed. The second layer reinforces the tube and cover of the hose. This layer protects the products being conveyed from spilling in case of an internal or external increase of pressure. This layer consists of fabrics and/or wires that can be braided, spiraled, wrapped, or weaved around the tube of the hose. The third and outermost layer of the hose is the cover, providing protection of the tube and reinforcement from external damage, environmental deterioration, and UV rays. The cover may be color-coded to aid identification or improve aesthetics.
