Composite Hose

Accord's composite hose assemblies are designed and manufactured to function as chemical hose, acid hose, petroleum hose, vapor hose, etc.. Composite hose offers excellent flexibility, which makes handling easier. The carcass of a composite hose consists of multiple layers of polypropylene fabrics, films and polyester barrier layers which provide a structure resistant to chemical attack while maintaining strength, durability and flexibility. The outer cover of composite hose is abrasion resistant PVC-impregnated fabric, which protects against corrosion, attack from other liquids, UV rays and ozone. Composite hose has a working temperature range of -20°C (-4°F) to +80°C (176°F), refer to Chemical Compatibility Chart. Standard lengths vary with size and can be cut and coupled with externally swaged to: NPT threaded; cam & groove couplings, fixed, floating or reducing flanges and/or to each client’s individual requirements. Accord composite hose assemblies use a conductive swaging seal to guarantee the hose is electrically continuous through both the inner and outer wire helices with typical ratings of less than 10 ohms.

Accord's chemical hose, acid hose, petroluem hose, vapor hose assemblies meet and/or exceed the following standards: The British Standard BS5842 : 1980, The United States Coast Guard Regulations 33CFR Section 154.500, The International Maritime Organization's IMO Codes and Regulations. Accord hose assemblies are checked for quality control consistencies prior to shipment. All Accord hose can be hydrotested and certified prior to shipment.

Application: BioFuel and BioDiesel transfer is increasingly important in the petrochemical industry. BioEthanol presents few problems since most rubbers and thermoplastics have generally good chemical resistance. However, Biodiesel contains Esterified vegetable oils which have been found to damage most elastomers typically used in the production of fuel oil hoses. Composite hose, on the other hand, can be lined with polyamide (Nylon), which has excellent resistance to both mineral oils and the component chemicals, which constitute typical Biofuels. Dantec and Accord International have received much interest concerning the transfer of Biofuels, from bulk fuel storage and transport companies throughout the world. Refer to Chemical Compatibility Chart for specific recommendations.

The hose we offer for these media is the Danoil 9 NG, AG or SG hose which is available from 1" to 10" bore, maximum working pressure is to 14-Bar (200 PSI) and with its nylon lining possesses excellent resistance to Biodiesel and alcohols.

Composite hose is particularly suitable for these applications because of its excellent chemical resistance and its relative lightweight flexibility.

** Note: Nitrile; polypropylene, polyvinyl, and tygon materials are also vulnerable to problems. Brass, bronze, copper, lead, tin and zinc may accelerate the oxidation of diesel and biodiesel fuels, and create fuel insolubles (sediments), or gels and salts when reacted with some fuel components. All lead solders, zinc linings, copper pipes, brass regulators, and any copper fittings should be avoided. Recommended equipment should be stainless steel, carbon steel, or aluminum.

FIRESAFE composite hose utilize a series of non-asbestos barriers to conductive and radiative heat to achieve outstanding fire retardant ability. After 30 minutes of severe fire attack, the hose carcass is still intact and capable of holding product. Even after loss of integrity, this hose will not fail catastrophically, instead it will gradually burn off the product as it presents itself to atmosphere.
